Actually, what would be useful...

T

Would be a column on the forum page, that as well as giving the time of the last post, also gave the name of the last poster? Add it to the list I suppose...

T

Yeah that would be a good idea actually.. I concur!

G

I'm not sure, as clutter is already an issue (for me).

T

The forum and topic columns could be amalgamated. And i think a last poster column is more useful than an author column. I know what you mean about the clutter though, it's starting to look like one of my spreadsheets :$

G

Very much so. I'm also not entirely keen on the colour scheme from a HCI perspective. Aren't orange and mauve a bit close on the colour wheel? I always thought opposites were supposed to be best?

J

Golfpro, you never struck me as a man that would know his colour wheel;-). Trinny and Susannah would be proud.

T

So what colour scheme?

Well its not like I dress up in women's clothes or anything (well maybe just once in a while).

Nice feedback guys, ermmmm let me think......

or just make the Last Post column read something like
Soarous @ 16:38, 26/08/08

T

Hey Pete, that's worth a star isn't it? (I can't recommend myself!).

Hmmmmm, look what this has reduced us too...grovelling and scrabbling around for every star possible... :$

I dont give stars, I only vote for helpful users. So, I have voted for you and Soarous which just so happens earned you another star. Thanks

Cheers Pete,
nice job with the column integration on the front page, looks a lot cleaner.
Will be nice to have private messages soon too.

Another feature I thought would be useful would be to have peoples subject, institution or achieved education level instead of the nice looking but essentially pointless info that says:

"Member Type: Standard
Total Posts: 43
Joined Date: 14 Jun 2008 16:53:18
Last Login: 10 Jul 2008 22:41:33"

How about some boxes to fill in on the 'Account Info page' so that it read something like

"Member Type: PhD (Current)
Total Posts: 43
Subject Area: Human Geography
Institution: Uni of Bham"

I will pass your comments on, thanks

Not sure having your institution on is a good idea or not as some people like to have a certain degree of anonymity on here. Although having research area could be a good thing :-)
