PhD Economics without coursework

Hi everybody I have been working in a research organization for the last eight years. All my experience and training has been related to economics.I want to know can I get a PhD degree purely on the basis of research?

Hi.This is a replyt to the message from Mr.iftikhar Nabi.I am doing my phd in economics and our university is following the american system and they do not allow any one to be exempted from corse work.It is must to do it and the research work starts after you have done your course work.Thanks

I am working as a faculty in Business Schools from last 6 years have good expousre to research in business management. can I get PhD on the basis of my experience or publications. Or can I get free education for doing my Phd anywhere in the world

A PhD is a research degree and most UK PhDs don't require traditional 'course work'. However you must produce a thesis and be examined by a viva. Before either of these you must carry out research under the guidance of an academic supervisor and be registered for PhD study at a university.
