It probably easier to ask this on a mac forum, but as a fellow mac user I can only say try to avoid sending large files by email. It's easier to upload them and send the corresponding URL to the receiving party so they can download them.

I misunderstood this thread and hoped it was an off topic strand about colours and styles of macs now that the weather is so foul - oh well back to work then ;-)

I also think it may be best to upload it somewhere and send a link to them.

Alternatively have you tried zipping the file/folder? (right click and choose "compress file").
