Moral support during the turbulent stage of Proposal writing

O

Dear Friends and Colleagues

I envy everybody who already got their ethical approvals for their Research Proposals and those who have their VIVAs. I am working tirelessly to get my proposal write up correct. Not as easy as i thought. However I will hanging in there because I vowed to finish in 4 years.

I am doing a lot of reading on Grounded Theory and articles relevant to my topic. Getting learned indeed. It is not a walk in the park. I really miss my relaxation time prior this PhD journey. My friends and family tell me that this is the way it should be because otherwise everybody would be Doctors if it was that easy.

I have a very supportive family of 3 (my husband- I studied 3 of my other degrees in our bed until at 2am with lights, while he was sleeping -poor soul, so accomodating, a 21 yrs old hardworking daughter and 17 yrs old clever but lazy to pull socks son who wants me to collect degrees).

well I hope in 2015 I will reach my goal. not ready to give up on it now. There is too much at stake here.

Hello omashia, i am trying to write my Research Proposal too, i think its difficult especially the methological part. I want to apply for defined PhD positions in Netherlands, have anyone experience for the universities there?its demanding/challenging to get a positive answer?

Hi omashia,

Same here. Maybe I'm exaggerating or talking out of experience but doesn't it seem the hardest phase of getting a PhD? Isn't it confusing if you have (or don't have ) something in your mind that is not too big and not to small for a PhD, not old stuff and yet not something that can't be proven? And if the proposal gets rejected, what should you do?
