PhD in Theoretical Biology

Hi!
I'm an Italian MSc student in theoretical Physics and -even though it may sound strange- I would just love to start studying something related to biological problems. I've heard voices about new research in theoretical biology as a possible opportunity for a physicist...Does anybody know anything useful for me (like universities where they study such things or sites I could consult)? Thanks a lot!

You have lot of opportunities to pursue your research in Theoretical Biophysics. There are many universities in Germany who offer you a stipend during your PhD. Institutes like Max Planck Instiute for Biophysics in Frankfurt, Max Planck Institute for BioPhysical Chemistry in Göttingen offers you a very good ambience to do your research in Biophysics. You can go to those sites to have more idea. and there are lot more opportunities other than these places.

Hi! I'm an Indian MSc student in Biophysics. I am quite interesting to do my PhD in biophysics related area. I would just love to start studying something related to biological problems.Such as neuro biophysics, radiation biophysics, molecular biophysics, etc, is there any possible opportunity for a biophysicist...Does anybody know anything useful for me (like universities where they study such things or sites I could consult)? Thanks a lot!

Ha ha ha! Did Shriakant Patel just copy and paste Cat's question and edit it a little to suit him?? How lazy some people are that they can't even be bothered to type out their own question!

Hello Cat. Many universities are adopting the multi-diciplinary approach, where experts in all areas are collaborating to solve complex biological problems. As you are aware the field is vast, so I guess it all depends on where you want to go and what area of biology you want to study.
