I heard back feedback and my lack of honours in my first degree is proving to be the hindrance and my degree classification in my MSc is not high enough!

I feel stuck as my course was closed in the honours year. So what can I do? Academically I struggle a little bit with essays etc. Should I just give up? I have no honours so why bother even trying to get an internship?

*sigh* I REALLY want to cry now. Or can anyone else help

You can top up your degree to an honours through the Open University quite easily, at a cost but you can only count a certain number of credits from your degree towards it so in effect you will have to take more than the usual number of credits to get the honours. What class is your Masters? Funding is getting more and more competative. My course tutor says they won't even look at someone now without distinction in their Masters, including distinction for their dissertation (although I have heard of those with lower class degress and MA's gettig funding). What is your subject? I think some professional doctorates, i.e the Ed Doc have slightly lower academic entrance requirements (certinly the OU one does) as they take previous experience in hand.

I recall you posting about your problem of the university not issuing honours for class group for some administrative reason. It really is a very unusual situation that most academics will not have come across. For future applications I would therefore recommend if possible enclosing some kind of official letter from that uni explaining the situation. That might carry more weight than your explanation of the situation alone.

I got my MSc via the OU. I have a pass masters, one of my marks dipped on an assignment by 20%, and my subject is officially a Biological Chemist.

Waiting to hear back getting it. This letter! If they will issue one
