Hello, I have read some of the topics related to my concerns. I think that many of the comments are very useful and provide strong information for every particular issues.

In this vein, I would like to put forward some of my particular questions regarding my option for a Part-time PhD in humanities. Like every other cases, I didn't manage to get the spring scholarship and went for the Part-time place. As I am not from the UK (I am EU citizen), I would like to know if I am able to rent a flat/apartment assuming that I am a PhD student? What are the facilities offered by the University for this kind of enrollment? Are there any chances to search for a job at University? Having 3 years library experience, are there any chances to work for the library if there are vacancies? Does anyone know cases of part-time PhD which were founded the following years (charity, institutionally, grants etc)? Thank you for your time...

i think most of your questions are so specific as to be only satisfactorilly answered. by knowing your institution. Which we probably should NOT.
Housing- bugger-all gets put aside for allocation to doctoral types if that's what you mean?
As for jobs in libraries, that's basically corrupt- generally sewn up by staff for theirs and their friends little darlings.

Your university should be able to let you know what its accommodation options are. Not all institutions will have housing set aside for postgraduates (and this may be prioritised for taught students) but it's worth asking. As an overseas student you may be prioritised - particularly if you get in touch with your university's international office.

EU students have the right to work in the UK alongside their studies. Jobs may be available in catering, library services, etc at your uni - some institutions even run 'job shops' to help students find this kind of work. Your best bet is to get in touch and see what's available.

There's also no reason why you can't find funding in subsequent years of a part-time PhD.
