Funding for travel during PhD

3

I would like to make two short trips to Norway as part of my PhD and I'm looking for funding to cover travel/sustenance expenses which I estimate to be around £1000. My PhD is in Teacher Education and I'm based in the UK. Any ideas on organisations that I could apply to fund these two trips?

Nope, but your supervisor should be able to help. Are there societies you can join? In biology they would be things like 'society for general microbiology' or 'society for applied microbiology' and then you apply for travel grants.

My funding included travel money set aside I did courses in the UK and US which they mostly covered. I did however have to pay accommodation cost to my last one and my Sup agreed to cover flights only

Ask your department? My university's graduate school offers funding awards that the departments then have to match. E.g., if I get £400 from the grad school my department will give me another £400. Plus you might also get an expenses allowance. My department has that, although they don't advertise it very widely.

Also, be warned that Norway is an expensive country!
