Sounds good! There's a Facebook group I'm in and there are a couple of people in there who go on and on about how we all need much more positivity and less grumbling, and it sort of annoys me as I then feel I will be policed if I want to have a grumble :)

I agree, sometimes it's good to grumble, any advice on how to not need sleep ever. I would be able to get loads of work done if I could figure out how to stay awake 24 hours a day.

I hate it when people don't indicate on roundabouts.

I know what you mean, or when they don't indicate when changing lanes.

I don't understand what is the point of having someone on your journal authorship list if they are not willing to even very lightly edit the paper. [aarghh]

Stickied by request. Lets try and keep it lighthearted and PG13 though ;)

For myself: photocopier credit. Always photocopier credit.

And the #scholarsunday hashtag. Twitter should automatically replace that with #letsgotothepub

Oh - and people who sit and have Very Deep and Meaningful Conversations right in front of the coffee in conference breaks.

This is fun...

Does anyone feel like their supervisions make them feel really stupid?

I'm 3rd year and every supervision I come out, I just feel really stupid. My academic credentials would suggest otherwise, and I know I can be brilliant. But gosh, my academic confidence is at rock bottom. Is it just me?

My confidence is at its lowest low weeks prior to my viva. I just feel like I shouldn't have even been accepted on the programme and they're just going to laugh in my face.

I can't speak for your external examiners, but I'm sure you'd have a pretty good case for misconduct if they did.

Your supervisor wouldn't have let you get that far and submit if you were guaranteed to fail. Go forth, kick butt and let us know how it goes :)

Open plan office seating 40 from three different disciplines
Why get out of your seat to talk to someone quietly when you can keep your eyes on your monitor and just shout over your shoulder, right?
