I have been made an offer for a 4-year PhD studentship in the Life Sciences. The program is funded by the BBSRC and the first year is mostly training (like a master's year I'd say). Around 15 studentships are given each year for this program which is partnership between three universities.

I already hold a first class BSc and I'm currently undertaking a MSc. The only academic requirement was a 2.1 or a first in a relevant discipline. I am yet to receive the offer details from the University's PG team (which will detail the requirements etc) but I'm wondering whether the offer could be conditional? Obviously I already sent them my transcripts but I'm worried about whether they'd want me to achieve certain % for my MSc to give me the studentship. I know they have interviewed people and will offer places to students who have yet to receive their Bachelor's, so I'm not sure whether they'd have expectations for my Msc. Anyone was in a similar situation? What happened?

If you've met the academic requirements already, then I would guess it's probably unconditional. But there's not much point any of us speculating about what the offer details might or might not be, because we have no way of knowing! Can you call or email someone at the university (there's probably a PG administrator who manages admissions, maybe the person who informed you of the offer) and ask for clarification?
