The minimum funding for the 05/06 year was £12,000. Apparently for 06/07 it is ~£12,300 and for 07/08 it seems to be ~£12,700. Does anybody know if, as a 2nd year PhD student, I am entitled to receive the increased amount? My first months' cheque for this year was still £1000. I was really rather looking forward to the extra £5 a week. What?

Which funding body are you with? I am with AHRC, and not heard mine will increase in my 2nd and 3rd year. There are people on departmental studentships, and they are on less than 11k. If in doubt contact your funding body, they should be able to answer directly.

mine increased as my second year began (yey!).. i thought this was normal.

You should definately recieve the increased amount regardless of year of study. Perhaps your uni is a little slow and will make up for it next month, but it's worth talking to the student fincance people to make sure it's sorted out.

where did you get your funding from? If I am granted funding (please God). I will have to continue to work (currently I have 2x jobs) with a possibility of getting another one.
