PhD viva and dyspraxia?

B

Can anyone advise on the extra adjustments needed for the viva if you have dyspraxia? I have been awarded extra thinking/processing time, but would be grateful to hear of others who have managed this situation?

Hi, BOTH your thesis and the viva are likely to be affected by dyspraxia. Because you will be examined on the basis of what you've written, make sure that you have your disability report recommendations passed to the examiners before the viva. Also, assure that whoever is in charge of making notes writes down during your viva that examiners are aware and willing to follow the guidelines of reasonable adjustment. My another advice, if it's not too late, is to stand your ground firmly with your adjustments. Dyspraxia is not common at this level and it's likely to be brushed under the carpet with you ending up paying for your disability. Good luck
