In January 2007, I will begin my PhD in UK. Now I am searching for accommodation in Manchester. I am checking some internet sites for flat sharing such as www.flatshare.com , www.clickflatshare.com. Firstly, I would ask are there any other sites for finding shared flats especially offered for PhD students?

And there are some points that I cant understand on this site.

I guess for the rent “pw” means per week, and “pcm” means per month? what is letter c in “pcw”?

While sharing a flat, is there a official procedure(such as signing some documents and giving them to an official bureau)? or is it all informal? As an international student, what I have to pay attention most in this documents?

PCM = Per Calendar Month and PCW = Per Calendar Week

When renting you usually need to sign a Tenancy Agreement and pay somewhere in the region of a months rent as a bond/deposit which you get back once you leave the property (this money will be used to pay for any damages that you may cause while living there)
