I got a high 2:1 (67 average) from LSE in politics. What are my chances of getting funding after my MA for a political theory PhD. I think i can only apply to AHRC but not ESRC though am unsure. Do departments only tend to give awards to those with firsts?

I do know that AHRC funding usually goes to graduates who have a 1st. However, if you do exceptionally well in your masters this could compensate for not having this. Also, you should keep your eye out for uni funded bursaries

I know people who have got funding with a good 2.1, but they also did very well in their Masters - if you can get a Distinction Masters then that would really help. The LSE have a lot of internal scholarships that you should look into.
