double trouble? funding happiness twofold!

C

I was so pleased to get funding for the last two years of my PhD earleir this month: and now my boyfriend has got funding for his MA. Got letter today.

So happy. Let the academic rivalry begin! ;-)

P

Oh jolly good for you two, well done! No fighting, be nice!!

Now....about sharing with those less fortunate

C

How are the cash-puppies? blooming I hope!

There will be no fighting - promise.

Well, obviously I can only be mock-jealous that he got it on his first attempt! It took my three!

P

cash-puppies are due 4th September, she is HUGE, all belly and hardly any ShihTzu!! Wish I could post a photo. She likes to roll on her back and now she keeps losing her balance and looks like a flailing toad! It is also getting close to me carrying her up and down the stairs, well, I have to look after my assets I just hope I have the heart to actually sell them, husband is getting concerned as I have already named two little girls

C

Well, I mean you could keep the two little girls and use them as future "PhD mothers"....

I loved your 'flailing toad' description. Funnily enough, I had two pet toads as a kid - and I have seen them flail.

So it's now "Stockholm here we come!", I take it? For a double celebration?

S

wow chris, that's great! let me join in the celebrating - my partner too has landed not funding, but a great job. Whoohoo!

C

*drools* Yes, a weekend in Stockholm - after the panel meeting and first draft of a chapter. Eek.

Congrats on the job Shani (well, by proxy!)

'We' (vomit: byf and I) think it is hillarious (and wonderful that our projects have been funding) - esp. since the government is cutting funding for the humanities that can't prove obvious economic benefit.
