I've just graduated with a 2:1 in Engish Literature and am wanting to do a PhD, I was told that a masters was not required, is this true? Because it seems that it is. I was also told that normally one is paid to do a PhD, and in the Arts and Humanities section, it is usually about £10,000 a year?
