Goal 1 - DONE eventually
Goal 2 - another tomato of thesis reading
Thanks for the encouragement Ady! The tomato refers to the pomodoro method - work solidly for 25 minutes then take a five minute break. 25mins = 1 tomato! There's an online timer if you're interested - http://mytomatoes.com/
Well I'm glad that you at least had a productive day Pink numbers!! I unfortunately got very little done - I really thought that I was feeling a little better so I'd be able to concentrate but maybe I'm not there yet. Time is ticking away though so I'm going to have to try again today regardless. I think I'll try get 4 tomatoes done -sounds pathetic but it would be WAY more than I've done for months now. So
Goal 1 - 1 tomato reading thesis
I'm here today too! After a long time struggling and getting nowhere I'm slowly trying to get back into some productive work. I've just found out that transfer is coming in a matter of months so I really need to get moving with things. Today I'm going to focus on the aspect of my project that I feel really out of my depth in so I'm expecting it to be a tough day!
Goal 1: figure out the inputs required for model
Happy working this afternoon everybody (up)
Just PM'd you thanks Cakeman!
Thanks for trying Pinknumbers (up)
It would be great if anybody has access to this paper!

Hi everyone. Thank you all for your comments and kind wishes. I am starting to feel a bit better I think. I have just split with my long-term partner too so that's making things a bit easier. I'm sorry to see that so many of us are struggling or have struggled with the same problems but they are definitely fixable.
I don't live in the UK and have no experience with the NHS so really couldn't comment on that topic!
Hi everyone. I was wondering if anyone could recommend any papers or other resources that I could forward to a friend who wants to understand the therapy process before he decides to go ahead with it. He's quite academic and in a medical field so hopefully the terminology wouldn't be too tricky for him. He has of course tried to find information online but is complaining that he can only really find pop science stuff. The issues that I think he's hoping to deal with are depression and emotional intelligence. I've been searching on google scholar this morning too and have found a few bits and pieces but as this is definitely not my field, I'm struggling a bit to see what is relevant. Any suggestions greatly appreciated.
Thanks
EV
I've noticed that there seem to be quite a few threads on here recently from people feeling really low - well here's another one. I've recently been diagnosed with moderate depression and an anxiety disorder. I've to date had four sessions with a psychologist and although my mood is no better, I'm beginning to feel that there might be some hope of recovering which is in itself a relief. It took me a very long time to seek help and I just wanted to encourage anyone who is suffering to get help as soon as they can. It's very important to look after ourselves!
Well done!!!! I imagine you might be shattered now but how exciting!!
Thanks Clarabelle and Purplecat - I'll give both of your ideas a go - will let you know of my progress - the only way is up at this stage!!
22wpm on the racer thing - I'm WAY more rubbish than I thought :$
On the other hand - 98% accuracy - go me!!!!
"Sense lang" has been recommended to me so I'm going to give that a go. It's free online - so that's a good start anyway!
Ha ha Sneaks - luckily for me there's no transcribing required in my line of business 8-)
I've decided it's finally time to learn!! I'm pretty fast already but still need to look at the keyboard alot. Does anybody have any recommendations for online touch typing tutor things??? I've been just trying not to look at the keyboard but it's making me REALLY slow!
