Maybe I could get some adivice: will the University of Ibiza let me have 4 labs and 15 research assistants in 24 years time when I have a PhD, maybe from Cambridge, Stamford or Yale. In this time I will have completed 29 research papers, 17 of which are in Nature, 8 in Cell. I wil however have a child, Amy, with shoulder length dark hair and aged 3 years 4 months. My wife will be pregnant again though, will that hamper my chances?
Sounds like you stand a good chance, go for it: UCL is 4th or 5th in the country. I did my B.Sc. at Imperial and got a 2:1. I'm now at Cambridge doing a PhD and I didn't do a masters. I didn't have any experience either (i.e. summer placements), just the degree.
you've got to be in it to win it..
