Did you apply to the advertised positions? If that's the case you were rejected most probably because you didn't finish your PhD. When you will finish your PhD is very uncertain and I think that's why they don't even read your application. Now it's very unlikely that you would be successful. I would wait till I submit at least.
Good luck!
"The ideal characteristics of a house are (A, 2011):" and "A (2011) refers to the ideal characteristics of a house as being:" are quite different as they give importance to different things. So I wouldn't do that as Ady suggests. Besides it's no more direct definition as opposed to the first one which conveys better the information.
By the way the usual way to cite is A.
I had the interview late in the morning and I received the e-mail from my supervisor late evening in the same day. I was surprised by the quick decision because I was told that he would decide in three days.
I wouldn't worry because in your case you will be contacted by the administrator and it will take more time than contacting by supervisor directly.
I know it's hard to wait. Good luck!
After 8-10 years your marks probably would count little. You should mention your MSc. It's a proof that you can do postgraduate study. I wouldn't mention why the grades were low though. It will just give more attention to the low grades. You can tell if they ask. Focus on the positives and on your skills in the application.
Good luck.
Stop to think negative immediately. Focus on positive points.
You finished your thesis and submitted. Congratulations.
A fail is a remote possibility. More probably you will get a minor or major corrections.
I didn't submit yet so I can't give you any advice on viva preparation.
Start to prepare for the viva and while doing this concentrate on the positive points so you can easily defend it. How can you defend something if you see all the negative points. No one's thesis is perfect.
When you open your thesis and start reading, this will ease your anxiety.
Good luck.
Can you put your research into an article format and submit to a journal? As it will be reviewed you can get useful comments.
You can also send the draft article to the authors you cite frequently for their comments.
I got very useful comments to improve my work and I also published by this way. My supervisor isn't an expert in my research topic.
I am in engineering so I have no information on your subject. Can't your supervisor help you with his contacts?
Don't undervalue your work also. You would be surprised how people can be interested.
It's a difficult situation but keep going. I wish you the best.
