I know the feeling! I got married at the end of my first year so managed to keep the weight off as I wanted to fit in my wedding dress. But since we got married I put nearly 2 stone on (in less than a year, oops!)
Anyway, I recently joined slimming world and have lost nearly a stone in 8 weeks. It doesn't really feel like a diet, just healthy eating, so I'm sticking to it!
I've made great progress; looks like I'll finish editing this chapter today, so I can just print it later and then have a read through it tomorrow.
BUT my tummy bug has come back again :-( and it seems to be the same as yesterday (feeling dizzy/sick then leading to not being able to move from the couch). Going to try and cram in as much work as possible now while I can still sit upright!
Morning all, hope everyone had a good bank holiday weekend!
I was meant to have a big day working yesterday, but ended up with a tummy bug! Still feeling a bit queasy but I think I'll be fine, so I best get cracking!
Goal 1- practice conference presentation
Goal 2- edit findings chapter 2
Afternoon all!
I'm shattered! Left the house at 7 this morning and only just got home, and only just had lunch! My tummy was rumbling like crazy on the drive home.
Anyway, I'm feeling really tired so I'm not sure how much I'm going to get done today.
Goal 1- sort stuff from today and send attendance email
Goal 2- learn next part of presentation
Goal 3- write shopping list
Goal 4- go food shopping
Think that'll be me done for the day!
Don't panic Linda.
I must admit I don't receive much negative feedback from my sup; however she is a very positive person, who is very focused on giving positive feedback to students, and getting the negatives in gradually. She always asks me what I think about my chapters, which is when I identify possible issues and she confirms them. I'm only in my second year so this may change though, as the writing gets more 'serious'.
On another note, I have friends who often receive nothing but negative feedback from their sups. These sups seem to assume that you 'know' the positives of your work without having to say them, so therefore just focus on the negatives. Maybe this is what yours does?
What does the negative feedback relate to? Your writing style? A particular topic? An issue that they keep repeating to you? It'd help to know; PM if you want to :-)
My list is finally getting shorter, yippee! Left to do today:
-practice next bit of presentation and run through
-pack for tomorrow
-gym
Going to pack now whilst making an early tea, then I'll go through my presentation for an hour, and then after that I'll go to the gym! Hopefully I'll be back from the gym by 8.30, so I can get a quick shower and snuggle up with hubby in my jamas and watch the apprentice (up)
Have a good evening all, and I'll 'see' you tomorrow!
Oh no Linda, negative feedback sucks (down) it could just be that it seems even more negative than usual because you feel crappy though?
Goals still left to do today:
-do minor edits to chapter
-practice next bit of presentation and run through
-pack for tomorrow
-lit links to findings chapter 4
-gym
Not sure whether I'll realistically get through all this though! Here's hoping!
Sorry to hear you're still not feeling well Linda! At least your bug didn't come during your wedding/mini-moon though hey?!
My list is getting bigger rather than smaller! We've decided to move at the most stupid time ever grr, so having to meet deadlines earlier and it's all a bit stressful! But hey ho, I'll get there.
I've done goals 1, 3, 4 and 6, but I still need to read through my chapter. Edited goals for today:
-read chapter
-do short report
-practice next bit of presentation and run through
-pack for tomorrow
-lit links to findings chapter 4
Argh!
Hope you're feeling better today Linda!
I made good progress yesterday so want to do the same today.
Goal 1- finish making links to lit in findings chapter 1, print and read
Goal 2- practice next part of presentation
Goal 3- run through whole presentation
Goal 4- think of any questions to ask sup tomorrow
Goal 5- pack bag to go to uni for teaching tomorrow
Goal 6- edit plan for few weeks seeing as I'm moving at the most problematic time!
Just moving, we def can't afford to buy!
My hubs isn't a great shopper but just thought I'd drag him along and help me find something!
Sounds like you're making great progress; I think it'll be much easier to get cracking if you've already got some writing to work with.
I've done goal 1, now onto goal 2. I hate presentations!
Morning Linda!
Well I didn't find a conference outfit yesterday afternoon grr. Think I'll leave it til the weekend though, and drag hubs with me.
Goal 1- go over presentation from yesterday
Goal 2- learn next bit of presentation
Goal 3- edit findings chapter 1
I may get interrupted in the middle of things today though, and have to go and meet hubby at work re the house we looked at yesterday. I don't like interruptions!
