grrr just need a little rant! Just got an email from one of the postgrads in my office saying my supervisor has been looking for me and some of my samples are missing. Really annoyed on a few accounts, first he gave me permission to work at home therefore surely he could email me if he wants me not pass messages around making it look like I'm skiving or soemthing. Second i left all my samples in my drawer in the lab so if they are missing someone has moved them which means I will never find them. Grr so now going to have to go in tomorrow and try and sort it out! Annoyed!!!! Writing is going well this week and this means I will loose another day!!! GRRRRRR
morning all sounds like you have all been working hard yesterday. Good job on the schedule for today Lara - sounds good. TG Mamma Mia is brill - just what is needed after so much phd stress. And hi Angie welcome to the madness- its a matter of battling through we will all get there.
Had my antenatal class again last night - now starting to get a bit scared about the birth! But then I want my baby here so i will have to get over it. Builders are workign away next door and driving me mad!!! To much drilling and sawing!
Anyway I got most of my aim done yesterday but not quite finished so today:
1. Finish text from esterday
2. Sort notes from other books for this chapter
hey all hope today went well. I worked on and off all day. Builders started next door so that was driving my puppy insane! And me. This heat is killing me. Aims 2 and 3 are done. Aim 1 is half way there. so aims for tomorrow as I will not get on in the morning as I have to work are:
to finish FC notes.
hello all hope you had a good weekend. Good news lara you should like you are being productive. I find early mornings best myself- by lunch if you have completed something you feel great plus you can have some time off in the evening to go for a walk or something. That said I'm only starting now and normally I try for earlier but this hot weather is draining me! All the best with aims for today- keep going you are both getting there TG and Lara.
My aims are:
1. Notes for section 1 of chapter 2 typed
2. Finish latin american history book
3. sort other texts - decide what needs included where!
See you all later
enjoy the concert lara - half days off are great to get the mind focused again! TG -it takes a while to work out realistic aims doesnt it! The chocolate helps.
Had my class last night - was good! Tired this morning so just starting for the day. Aims are:
1. read book on forgotten continent
2. type up refs so far for chap 2
morning guys. Yesterday I didnt quite get aims finished so for today ( I have to work for a while too) my aims are:
1. finish notes
2. book - scan read
Hope you all have a good and productive day
Thanks for the words of advice tractorgirl. You are right its hard to look after myself but with the baby I really need to so trying hard. Actually slept quite well last night which makes a change!
morning. I took last week off and sadly it was not as relaxing as i had hoped. My gran is very ill and doesnt look like she will make it to my baby is born. But i did get the nursery pretty well sorted and husband got the garden well on its way and I tried to sleep some and visted my family lots. So today back to it - dont really know how much work i will get done in next while with all this going on. But i need to try.
So aims for today:
1. Finish key text for ch2
2. scan through some of new book for this chapter (I have to work tomorrow so wont get much time so this aim is to be finished tomorrow)
Hope everyone is well and ready to go again on a monday morning! Have a productive day and week.
Im writing up my phd and currently nearly 8 months pregnant. I will update you with how it goes but so far its all good. I lost a baby last year so often things never turn how how you plan them. I have found since being pregnant I am much more focused and organised and since I have other priorities in my life rather than just phd my approach is better. I eat well, sleep well, work hard and enjoy some time off. Yes it can be hard, morning sickness and other complications but I couldnt just be a mum- just as I couldn;t just do my phd and nothing else in life. I know i will need to be organised to finish the writing up when baby comes but I also know that I will do it. I hope to work afterwards, part time preferably for a while. My sup is very supportive as is my husband. Let people discriminate or comment but I am the happiest I have been in these months! Hope it continues when the sleepless nights hit!
had my interview on friday. it was scary stuff so dont expect that I will have got the job but sure. Taking this week off as my husband is off to finish everything in the house that needs done before arrival of baby- also have hospital appts tomorrow. But my granny was taken into hospital so been visiting her. Didnt quite finish my aim of last week so mite do some work one day to finish that off then start fresh next week. You are all doing well!! Keep going. I'll log in soonish.
hey aim 2 i spent too long on today - preparing for this interview tomorrow but I think im ready. Aim 1 - only got about half way through around 1000 words or so but thats ok. If i have enough energy after interview I will try to finish it off tomorrow!
