Hello Ady, you always help me. I don't know how to thank you :). But unfortunately I did not receive it this time. Maybe there is a problem with the email address. I'll send it to you.

Question about page format
E

Hello all, maybe it is very silly question for some of you, but I don't know the answer. Do you know what is the book format? I mean the size of the page and the margins ... etc.

Good morning all,

How are you Eska :)?. Today, I have to read 26 cases, and my brother in law is coming today so I have to cook some delicious food without garlic. I want to have my breakfast now and then directly to my study.

Have a great productive day!

Morning, I've only just got up and had my breakfast. Am having a slow start because my blooming nuisance neighbour is ringing door bells at funny times of the night and morning 3am, 6am and 9am. Marvellous eh! So I have had very little sleep. He wnet through a patch of rining mne so I had a switch put in for it, but now it seems he is ringing other people's, and I can hear it! AArrrgghhh.

So anyway, I have an appointment early this afternoon so I plan to work until about 12:30, get some editing done, and then do some more work again after that. Maybe two hours more. See you  later flks.

Hello Eska,

I had the same problem last night :-(. I have a similar nice neighbor. I'm too sick these days. I had an appointment with my doctor today.... and tomorrow my brother in law is coming to sit with us for a while. So I have to study in my study room. Maybe it's better for me :-) goodbye to tomorrow morning

hey emaa,

have u read the four hour work week? u should. i think u're depressed because u dont have a clear and specific goal in mind. u feel that ur effort is not getting u anywhere. u're all alone working and lost. (okay, if im wrong, then i'm sorry.. been watching too much of *the mentalist* these days haha)

what do u love to do emaa? motivate urself by deciding to spend at *most* 4H/day to do research. so, u can spend the rest of ur time doing something good that u enjoy. well, i don't consider partying as something good, u better scrape that.

psychologically, people feel happy at doing research when they have a clear direction of where to go. they feel happy when their effort moves them closer to the goal. again, if my prognosis is wrong, u must forgive me :)

Hey pikirkool,
Thanks for your advice, I'll look for this book. You are totally right. I don't have a clear goals. Although I'm in the last steps of my thesis and the remaining part is not that difficult but it needs long hours to be done. I'll try to set clear goals everyday and leave some hours for hobbies. Thanks again (up)

Hello Eska,

So glad that you had a good weekend. My weekend was not bad, on Saturday I went out with my husband and friends and yesterday I studies for few hours. I'm in a sad mood these days. I'm still waiting my supervisor's feedback on my last work. I sent it to her 6 weeks ago. :-(
Today, I woke up early, I'm still in pyjamas and sit on the sofa. However, I'm studying

Wish you a great day

Hi Eska,

I'm sick today, so I couldn't do anything except sleeping. I hope you have had a better day. Tomorrow I have an appointment for lunch. I'll try to study in the morning if I could wake up early.

Glad you are fully dressed, and not dressed up - which would be quite inappropriate for daywear ('dressed up' means either special occasion wear or fancy dress) unless, of course, you are dressed as a banana or similar!

That's an idea, wearing top hat and tails to get in the mood for studying!

It is good idea as long as it helps us to get in the mood for studying :-)

Lol... thanks. So I'm fully dressed ;-) Yes, naughty and a good daughter.
I feel less stress today. It is nice to sit on my desk after a long time. It's so noisy outside, so I turned on some classic music. The first 30 min was good. Today's goal is to analysis some cases and write one paragraph. I cooked last night so I can work until the lunch time.
Now, the second 30 min

Good morning Eska, thanks for correction :-)
I woke up late today, I had a small breakfast, prepared my tea, fully dressed up (in fact not fully I don't wear shoes ;-) ), I clean my desk and I'll start the first 30 min right now.

Good luck Eska

Hi Bewildered, thanks for your advice. In fact no near public library to my home. The nearest public library is 30 min away and it opens only three hours a day.

I'll sum up all advices for "working at home":

1- Wake up early.
2- Eating an appeal :-) Because I don't drink coffee.
3- Fully Dress up.
4- Clean the desk.
5- Saying hello to Eska :-) and who wants to join us to motivate each other.
6- Set goals for the day.
7- Working for 30 min and taking break for 5 min (set the timer)
8- Sleep early

Any suggestions?

p.s. my mother tongue is not English, so I'll be happy if you correct me when I do mistakes.

Hi Emaa,

I like ot get up early and start work straight away, but lately I've been slacking and keeping irregular hours. Perhaps I will start an accountability thing here and say hello to you on the morning at 7! I too often start work in my pyjamas, or alternatively stay on the sofa in my pyjamas... So I think the advice about getting dressed is good stuff, I would feel in work mode then - or least not quite so much in lounging about mode. Although I do always eat breakfast - porrige or toast and tea.

I too have a small work space. Mine is in my hall, but I find it very effective. I have painted my hall plain white and sit on a nook facing the wall so I have no distractions - I also have no internet access in there, I use an old fashioned cable connection which is only fitted in the living room. I have found that making this a comfortable, pleasant place to be means I look forward to being there and writing, it feels like my special place. I always keep it warm, much warmer than the rest of my flat and I light a scented candle when I am writing, it's a kind of ritual which helps me zone in to my work and leave everything else behind. I use this place for writing only and I go to the living room if I run out of steam, need to do something else or need a break.

I will say hello in the morning, fully dressed I hope!

Hi Eska,

I like your idea of saying hello in the morning, and your writing hall. I like my study room but I don't know why I feel much more isolated there. However, tomorrow morning, I'll say hello and also fully dressed :-)
