I think because TV channels are currently skint and they need something to fill their TV schedules. For example, it is the reason that ITV is full of Harry Hill repeats all week long.

If the majority of goals in a football match get scored in the first and last few minutes of each half, then why don't they just have 10 minute games? and then I could watch something decent!
