Andy, I wish I could offer advice but I've only been here a few weeks and haven't really seen much of the city centre. Shouldn't be too much worry though, it's huge and there are loads of places to go generally depending on taste and budget. If only my (rich) friend would stop trying to take me to posh cocktail bars all the time...
How do people feel about taking time off? I'm coming to the end of my 2nd year and haven't got anywhere near the results I would be expected to have achieved by now. However, for the past year I have had to have days off weekly to make hospital visits. I feel like I really need to get away, but I also don't feel like I can afford to. It's such a struggle for me to get out of bed on a morning where before I would leap out at 4am and be in by 6.
I e-mailed the author yesterday and he sent it yesterday! It's good to know that this is 'common' - I've never had to do it before. I know it won't always work though! I also got a British Library letter when I got home last night saying the article had been delayed, waiting list etc. Thanks for the help everyone.
Sorry to change the direction of the talk but for those in Nottingham, where is a good place to have romantic meal? Currently away at the moment but want to take my girlfriend out for a good meal when I get back to Notts.
In regards to the Leeds/UCL debate. London is good and all but you have to watch your budget. I'd choose Leeds. You get a good degree and can afford to live a little (or alot).
