I also share an office with some other people, I don't know about you but I like listening to music while studying and the best thing I ever purchased was some good headphones. Not only is the sound great but they cut out all sounds around you.

However if you don't like music and it is really killing you I would ask him to get some less crunchy food, just make a joke about it.
