Once the cycling is over I think we'll go anyway....

My post has been here 8-9am every morning.
Today I'm going on a weekend break with my husband but we've said we won't go until the post comes.
What's the bet it's 2pm with nothing?!

Thank-you Crumb that's great to hear.
I'm getting rather desperate!!
I wonder, if you know what University they're at.
A little birdie suggested results might be sent out on this basis.

I'd quite like a job at the AHRC.... since they only seem to do any work one day a week!!
So tempted to ring them but must be strong!

Well done theselfishgene... what panel/ subject are you in?
Writing the MA diss whilst waiting is a killer!

Yep Royal Mail say 'by the third working day' and yours came on the second; plus I'm in the middle of nowhere and post came quite early which generally means they've left without all the post!!
Anyway I'm very pleased for you, is good news that some +ves are coming through

Congratulations Megara, my panel, though I'm an archaeologist.
What date was it dated??
I think I'm going to get a big fat no.

At which point my post arrived rather predictably without any AHRC post; thus removing my pretension that they might actually be interested in advising me of the outcome of my application.

I have a sneaking suspicion there will be lots of letters floating around today.
As a result I can't concentrate on ANYTHING!! My stomach is turning and I feel quite nauseous.
I'm sure this process should be illegal on the grounds of mental torture.

I suspect the letters sit on someones desk for the other three days.
Or are used as paper aeroplanes.
Or to make paper chains.
Definitely nothing logical.

Given things are being sent second class I think Sundays (for obvious reasons) and Tuesdays (because there's likely to be noone in the office on Saturday) are likely to yield a dirth of responses.....
