I forgot to say congrats also!!
My goodness, how long are they taking to get anywhere!
My husband's arrived on 6th having been posted on 4th but now they seem to be sitting around for ever.....
Will probably only amuse me but just googled 'AHRC waiting' and came up with http://travel.webshots.com/photo/2599157880049983806YyVnsr.
Interestingly, the previous image is of a dentist's.
Nothing for me here today and post surprisingly early.
Need to try and write 1000 words of dissertation today!
I think I win the prize for most incomprehensible/ just plain long sounding degree titles:
So far:
BA Egyptian Archaeology
MSc. Material Anthropology and Museum Ethnography
MA Archaeology of the Eastern Mediterranean and Middle East
No post for me today, the wait continues!
Raining here too....
I'm an archaeologist looking at prehistoric Egyptian cemetery sites, or I will be if the post ever comes....
I find it v difficult to settle until it does, only this week its been here any time between nine and two thirty.
Panel three seem to be getting a move on.
Have heard nothing about panel 1 yet though!!
I'm going to have a nervous breakdown at this rate!
Am currently homeless (living with inlaws) jobless (apart from a part-time admin job) poor (connected to both of previous points) and attempting to write a dissertation. The lovely AHRC seem to have little regard for people with family commitments.
BTW that makes three American studies related awards/rejections I know of today.
Maybe there is a pattern!
And congrats.
TloD....
Same type of envelope by the sounds of it, logo on the back.
The bloody idiots... this makes it even worse!!
x
I've heard of one.
To an American Literature student who has just completed their 1st year.
That makes it a one in 30 chance?!!!
Hmmm.
Not sure I'll be opening a letter if it plops onto my doorstep tomorrow.
What will be will be!
I suspect he would have been top of the grade three pile as well given his grades...
just hope my letter comes really soon either way so we can make plans.
From potentially two PhD students to two unemployed doesn't sound great!!
Sx
As long as it wasn't your husband getting the bad news...
One panel three grade three here out (not mine).\
Are there any good news stories?!
If not if I get anything in the post tomorrow I swear I'm not opening it.
And so the awful morning wait begins again.
I'm for panel 1, keeping all of my limbs crossed.
Actually feel more relaxed this morning (tho doesn't stop constant post watching)
Sx
I won't find out until I get home from work .
Now nightly AHRC stress... surely they could do this more kindly, like give every panel a week when they can expect to hear.
It's the random arbitrariness that is so painful!!
