what a pointless statement to make.

typically feedback i get from my sup is 'thats crap' with corections on every line, even though the rest of my panel are usually postive. i dont think he has ever said anything positive

sleeplessness, weight loss (wooo) although is starting to worry me now.. headaches, IBS, and general lack lustre for life!

i was at work until 8pm on new years eve!!

and apparently ' there is no time for family when your doing a PhD'!!!!

it would appear my supervisor thinks i should be back at work on boxing day and said im lazy for wanting to be off until the friday! he was most astounded i was having any time off at all!

im going on 22nd and it cant come any quicker i cant wait to get out of here!!!!!!!!!!

i may be wrong but i dont think its possible to keep those sort of hours up for 3 years plus. i had same situation with my sup but at the end of the day i think lifes too short to stop living for three years.

when i was looking for my PhD i emailed all the people i would like to work with and found my PhD that way rather than applying for advertised posts.

have you tried contacting that persons department and asking about opportunties, there is no harm in dropping the a email to ask,
