Good to hear progress of everyone! it keeps us motivated and feel that we are not all alone in the world ;-) I think Lara is getting a deserved sleep after completing the task. So, my tasks didn't go according to the plan. I was aiming to finish the results section but got side tracked and wrote a part of the introduction. An interesting paper was just on the desk and wanted to write about that. Anyway there was in total about 400 words yesterday not so happy, but I keep reminding myself its still the beginning.
Today-
Finish the results section completely-I have been sticking to the chair since 9am so by 12 I have to finish at least the descriptive stuff, tables.
:-s
OK, this is my first post in this thread but wanted to join the writing partners for few months now. I seem to lack the motivation a bit in terms of sticking to my plans which I must say are very well written down and detailed. So, here is the plan for today. BTW I'm at the beginning of my writing and a summer finish is what I aim for although finishing earlier would be a bonus.
chapter -2 results section
- start doing the graphs and tables
- describe each of these
- go for the detailed analysis after lunch
fingers crossed (although I wouldn't be able to type like that)!

I was reading this post and have the same problem with a twist, I organize and write down deadline BUT don't mange to keep them. As someone mentioned digital post it on this post I went and did a search on that. I download this one-
(www.CrawlerTools.com/FreeNotes) looks cool and yellow (I like the colour) they can be made to be on top even when you visit other websites or docs, so makes you remember that its there no matter if you FB etc. (up) I also found that
www.download.com has this for free as well. I trust that website. Hope this is the way forward. Now should go back to work !;-)
I thought of joining as well. The weekend looks dull and rainy so, I might as well do some writing rather than being a slave to TV and watching music videos in internet. So here is the plan:
Sat- Chapter-1 methods
Sun- Chapter-1 Results
will update on sun night abt how it went. (hope none of my friends plan to surprise me by dropping in)
I love it as well, but I guess when I'm happy and all is well in PhD land I can cope very well. Its when all hell breaks and drained that I turn to the forum and ask for life saving tips. I can't wait till I submit and get thourgh viva with DR. to my name. I have learned a lot thorugh my time with the PhD. Most of all being phased my nothing!
If you haven't done even a tiny piece of work, then hold your hands and admit to your laziness. But, more important thing is that you should give the supervisor your plans ahead, in writing and in detail. That way at least you have something to hold on to and maybe will do some good as you both have the plan in writing. Even though this might seem a bit harsh-try not to hide from mistakes as the sooner you deal with them, the better.
Dear Jojo, try to eat well and have a walk for at least 20 min, I find the walking good even to the local shops to buy fruits or get some books from local library (cook books with nice pic. nothing academic). Having said that I haven't been outside for 3 days now, even though there is holiday weather. But will get out somehow today.
