I have given up on applying for a PHD sometime ago. However, I am working on my MD thesis at home. It is not going on very slowly, but I gues it is always that way when you need to collect data from patients.

My remark "I am a neurologist" is in response to the "tell me what is your field" in one of the responses above. It is rather surprising though. I had to read the whole thing again to remember why I put that remark in.

I coolrect clinical date on patients with familial epilepsy. There are afew syndomes with a known genetic bgasis so basically we should be checking the relevant genes in patients falling into an already known category. For cases that do not fit, I am not sure what could be done. Maybe search for candidate genes?

I really should not complain about professors not writing back when it took me well over a week to get back to my own post.
My area of study is genetic epilepsy syndromes. In our lab were we do genetic diagnosis for muscle diseases and hereditary ataxia but our neurogenetician is not sure she can can manage it. I am a clinicain and so do not fully understand the lab procedures. Any suggestions are welcome.

I am working on MD thesis in my home country and I am looking for training in some related lab techniques. I have sent letters to a number of Uni's and research centers working on the same field and nobody bothered to answer. I can provide funding locally but only if I have anacceptance letter from a Profeesor abroad. How do I get anyone interested?

Two Months, but I am doing MD and not a PHD and I am not in the UK.

This seems to have been going on for years. I've been checking the dates. I really hope I am wrong.

I was reading a job ad. and they mentioned an MD thesis. I know that the term MD means different things in different countries, so what does it mean in England ? and how does it differ from a phd?

I know that God can help us. He helped me before.
I do not think there is a relation between relegion and higher education/ intellegience.
I know that there God exists, and I believe that He relates to people in some way. I do not think that any particular relegion is superior to another. They all contain lots of superstions and are subject to different interpretations , but hink they reflect some basic human experience and need.

This is the first time a try to apply to a PHD. What is the cover letter? Is it related to funding or to my qualifications or interest in the rpolect
