oh do! its great.

what was the folk festival gig you missed?

Avatar for Eska

It was at Chester folf festival, a woman sunger who my friends are really into, and whose name I have forgotten. She seems to be a bit of a star on the folky circuits, and me and these friends keep meaning to do folky things, haven't managed it yet though. Maybe for my birthday, which is coming up soon.

ah my whole family is very famous in those circles :$ I try to keep out of it "I'M A SOCIAL SCIENTIST!" :p

My family were really into folk when I was a kid, my mum won the song competition at the Whitby folk festival, and I can still remember going for a meal, all excited, afterwards. I had steak diane and my sis had maryland chicken.

I also used to do clog dancing, I had my own clogs made: red lancashire duck toes.

I'm really rubbish for remembering the names of the films I see as my bf pretty much insists that we watch one every night - we don't watch much tv. But two of the best films I've seen lately are The Fantastic Mr Fox and The Book of Kells. They are both animations but seriously worth watching - entertaining too!!

I'm not sure I could stand Bill Murray in Fantastic Mr Fox. I was brought up listening to the tape read by roald dahl and the animated version looks SO american.

Avatar for Eska

The fantastic Mr. Fox is amazing! My favourite of recent times.

I'm really not a Bill Murray fan either Sneaks and I was apprehensive about ruining my memories of reading Roald Dahl as a kid but I really think the movie was a success!!

Avatar for sneaks

ok, I might give it a go if I can prize the remote from hubs' hands. The films I'm obsessed with at the mo are the ones with the same people in every film e.g. superbad, forgetting sarah marshall, role models, I love you man. I find them soooo funny.

I saw Clash of the Titans, yeah, I enjoyed it, it was fun, although I could only get to see it in 3d and the effects are not great so I think 2d wouldhave been better.

My favourite line from the film: 'There's a demi-god in Argos'; well, if I were a demi-god I wouldn't be shopping in Argos.

Avatar for sneaks

ah yes, I embarrassed hubby by laughing in the cinema everytime they mentioned argos :p

what did you think of medusa?

I thought the effects were great for medusa, but that they were a bit mean calling her a b**** given her back story. What did you think?

Avatar for sneaks

yeah, a bit harsh, although she does have snake hair which is probably the marker of a B**** if I had to call it.

I thought the CGI for her was a bit too computer gamey - I was really surprised they didn't make her more human if that makes sense.

Avatar for Eska

hhmmm yeah, probably, although I don't know too much about computer games past Sonic the Hedgehog so I wouldn't pick up on that. I liked the whole snakiness body thing - I recently saw a film with Uma Thurman as a more human Medusa so the snake thing made a nice change. The below par 3d set up made it hard for me to really get details of things too.

I really felt for medusa in this one after hearing her story- she was given the snake hair because she was raped and then all the company she gets is people trying to chop her head off... Tarantino aught to make medusa's revenge! Or is that Kill Bill anyhow?
