It shouldn't be a problem.. like the other posts have said as long as you cover it then it should be fine overnight and if in doubt just make sure it is full before you leave. I have had a water bath at 95oC all day (around 8-9 hours) before and it's never run out of water. I also have an electrophoresis tank that I run at 60oc for 17-18 hours overnight and again I have never had any problems leaving it as the lid keeps the moisture in. (up)

http://folk.uio.no/ohammer/past/ I use this sorftware for doing PCA and MDS of my data. It was put together for palaeontological data, but I use it for analysing multivariate 2D gel data and it works fairly well to produce PCA and MDS plots. It is a small free program which always helps :o)

Just finishing up in the lab before I head home for 2 weeks for xmas. I really need a break as my head is set to explode and I am being so unproductive of late, however I feel guilty as hell for taking time off. I am due to complete in September so I have alot to do and seemingly little time to do it in and so I am getting a bit stressed with it all. Don't you just hate the fact it is so hard to switch off from work even though you kind of need to switch off to improve your performance??? :-s
