Do I ever agree with you! I've put on well over a stone, my belly hangs over my jeans, my chin has been partly absorbed into my neck, I have cheeks like a hamster and it's absolute hell sitting down unless I undo the top button of my jeans. Oh, and I have man boobies! It's definitely time for action, but I can't do any running because of a condition that means my leg muscles ache and spasm if I do. It's torture and I'd walk the weight away, but walking is boring. I only eat 2 small-ish meals a day and would appreciate any weight loss advice that's convenient and simple.
Hehehehe, it's posts like this that make me chuckle. Must say though, bit of a variation on the usual, 'friends, find me PhD in bla, bla, with full funding'.
Try Last.fm or Pandora radio. You tell it what kind of music you like or want to listen to and it only plays that for you.
I think the process of a PhD can cause sleep disorders. Not been chipping away at mine too long but, bugger me, it's a demanding sod and enveloper of my life. Mustn't complain though, the reason for a sleep disorder could be a really unsatisfying job, noisy neighbours or even a sleep disorder inducing disease of great mystery and no cure. Now must get back to sleep...

If you're a right royal thicko like me, you have to work as many hours as possible. Sometimes I just wish I was super-intelligent, didn't get writers block and wasn't so easily distracted. I'd do really well then. Bah, well, can't have the cake and h'apenny I suppose.
Sounds like you know what you want then. Go for it!

Sparklehorse and I am Kloot today. Sparklehorse is taking quite a bit of getting used to though...
Ah, so Faust has stated that he/she wishes to have a Summer holiday of around 6 weeks duration? How long is a holiday in the Summer? I think I should have politely asked first. Thanks for orientating me to the true issue of the thread though.
I completely agree guys: you have to take a break! You really can't work non-stop. Besides, I find that after a set amount of time I stop concentrating anyway and if I carry on just get completely fed up and stop. I've read it on here numerous times before that a PhD is like a marathon and you have to pace yourself. And do I agree!
I've never had a problem with Virgin Media, or NTL prior, in that the connection has never let me down, but customer service is damn crappy. I also think that it's a little pricey too if you just opt to pay for broadband on its own. If you do plan on downloading lots of media and programs then I'd recommend it.
I'm not the brightest bulb in the box, and forgive my naivety and stuff, but why can't you just use a razor? Is it too abrasive for girl skin or something? I'm just curious is all.
I don't tend to make a habit of giving out my best kept secrets and time-saving tricks of the trade unless I really like a person. Merve, I really like you. Have you tried www.google.com? You can ask it anything you like, and by the powers of 'electrictrickey' and black magic, it'll present a plethora of solutions. Go forward and find what you seek, young man.
