Hi DocInsanity, I am not too sure what warranted such a reply from you. I just said thanks for putting it out in black and white that I should get on with it. I was pretty messed up with a multiple thoughts and maybe just needed someone to say get on with it. Thats all. I was not looking for magic answers at all. i was simply using this as a platform to write my thoughts and link up with people. You came along and very simply told me to get on and it made sense, sometimes we miss the simplest of things. However all that you posted thats not very nice at all what do you exactly mean by all that. Especially about getting a job at mcdonalds, thats extremely insulting to those who work there.

Hi everyone, I am in the 7th month of my phd in the humanities. I am supposed to submit a chapter of my thesis and the literature review in 1.5 months for my qualifying exam(about 15000 words). I roughly have an idea as to what the chapter is all about however I have not written a single word in the past 3 months and I am seriously panicking with this massive procrastination to write issue. I am supposed to submit a draft to my supervisor which has yet to culminate. I am hoping to quickly get over this draft so that relations between my supervisor and I don't sour at the start of the programme and the feedback from the supervisor will be really useful.Can some advice I am at my wits end. Thanks

Thanks for the advice. I hope to write up my draft of 10000-15000 words in the next few days. Eventually submitting my chapter by end of May. Hope thats feasible.

Hi everyone I am a first year Phd student who is panicking about my upgrade/confirmation exercise to be held in 2.5 months. I need to write up a chapter of the proposed thesis and I am totally lost. I have attempted to write a draft but its no where near completion to be submitted to my supervisor for comments and I have not been able to type anything in the last 2 months. How should I proceed from here. For starters I need to submit a draft in the next 5 days. What should i do I am panicking. Please advice. thank you
