I completed my degree this summer and managed to get a first. I have been accepted for an MA in Islamic Studies at SOAS university which I'm due to start in September 2009.

Any ideas for funding that doesn't involve taking out loans?

Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

I have no knowledge of this field of study so I can't really give specific advice. There could be research council grants available or scholarships and you might find some help on this site http://www.prospects.ac.uk or http://www.leverhulme.ac.uk/ or http://careersadvice.direct.gov.uk/

Otherwise the best thing to do would be to go onto google and type in 'postgraduate funding' which will give you lots of avenues to explore.

You could try Islamic organisations or other faith organisations?
