Office 2010

C

Anyone used this? isit any different from Office 2007? I'm just trying to get Office sorted on my computer at home and this is what seems to be available now.

Unless I go for an illegal download but am a bit unsure where to begin on that.....:p

yep, I recently got it, because I needed access and software for students have the entire office package for under £40 - not bad!

I've not used it much yet, but it seems to be very similar to 2007, so don't worry too much!

I quite like Office 2010. There's not much difference between it and Office 2007, except for an improved ribbon interface, greater speed and a few new tricks. As for getting it by dodgy means, I wouldn't bother. Essentially, it has to be reactivated every 180 days by a Microsoft server so unless you have a good KMS activator, it can cause a few headaches. It is really cheap for students, so I agree with Sneaks on this one. I'd buy it.
However, if you're anywhere near as impoverished as I currently am (though I'm not currently having to re-use teabags), I do have a good version of Office 2010 that I use. I can upload it for you to download and install. :-)

Haven't bought it yet, but I might. As a student, if you go to Pugh's computers you can buy the real thing quite cheaply, plus a whole lot of other programs.

Hi PhDbug, this is the cheapest price I can find: http://www.microsoft.com/student/office/en-gb/default.aspx

If you don't think your budget can stretch to it, PM me and I'll see what I can do to help.(up)

Software for students has it for £38 - not sure if its slightly different to Wal's version, but has everything I need on it.

err my hubby did mine for me, I think there's a link or something you can download it from?? I'm rubbish at this kind of thing - is it in your email?

P

Yes, there's a link from which you get a client or something which i ran, and then it downloaded the thing all night and this morning it unpacked it (whatever that means) and asks me to install it - I say yes, and bang - it says you must first install outlook 2010 business contacts or sometbhing before you can install this. WTF?! I paid 40£

I'd phone software4students, they must have a tech helpline. I don't think mine took that long to download, only took about 10 mins or so.
