Hey all,
I am working with 35S labeled Methionine and I prepared fMet-tRNAfMet using it. I want to use this initiator tRNA for testing translation initiation but the problem is that my lab has only the 14C radioctivity counting protocol. I made the initiation reaction and took the counts using this protocol anyway but I do not know how to determine the initiation efficiency from the dpms I have now.The counts seem to be really high and are in the range of 200000.
Any suggestions would be highly appreciated, thanks !
