I Have completed MCA (Master of Computer Applications) in India. I want to go for a PhD program in computer sciences abroad, can someone please let me know the procedure for getting into a PhD program.

1. search adverts online/newspapers/university websites for what you want
2. if you have your own research idea, search for universities in that area, look for funding
3. write to the email contact for application pack
4. write to the prospective supervisor
5. note down application deadlines
6. make your application statement/statement of purpose/cover letter
7. find people to be your referees and get letters of recommendation from them
8. get ready all original/certified copies of your degrees/transcripts
9. fill in application form and send it, include all supportive documents
10. wait for reply
11. wait for interview date (if overseas, usually online interview)
12. prepare for the interview
13. attend the interview
14. after that, send a THANK YOU email/letter to the interviewers
15. wait
16. once ok, apply for your visa
17. wait for university letter/email to come for your ATAS cert
18. apply for ATAS cert
19. wait
20. apply for visa
21. wait
22. visa, come
23. get ready to go do your phd
24. arrive at university
25. register, enrolment etc.
26. procedure for PhD program is complete

27. Complete PhD
