Hello Phders,
After 3.4 years finally My Viva in Management Accounting is finally tomorrow 06/11/13 . Am kinda scared but already planning how to celebrate(or moan) after the Viva. Now I have bought myself a Chelsea vs Schalke 04 champions league ticket as its a better bet either way (of the Viva outcome). To be honest I have read all the advice regarding PhD Viva preparation. I have chosen to follow The Bilbo-05....as they were same questions that came up at the mock Viva( I didn't prepare for mock ViVa to be honest). How did you celebrate yours or how are you planning to??Lets go
Hello, I urgently need services of a tried and tested professional Proof Reader for my PhD. thesis in Management Accounting. I just got feedback for my final draft after many months of waiting (thanks to the supervisor holiday). He said the work is OK but I need a proofreader. My submission deadline is 30th September. any suggestions? Regards
Dear All,
Am in my 21 months of my Phd study in accounting. i came from the field recently and was informed my Supervisor has moved Uni. am Phd bursary student thus was recruited as part of his package. Now I have been tranfered to the department with possible teaching responsibilities. On the other hand the supervisor has offered me continuation of my Phd in the new uni on the same terms I was here. We get along very well with the sup. The current supervisor I have been allocated has no Phd and he has not really published but he is professor in Finance with wide industry experience( not my field). What should I do move or stay.

About A year ago I hit this forum when applying for admissions and scholarships all over the world. I mean it NZ, Australia, China, South Africa, Germany, Israel, Denmark, Italy, USA, and UK. I got admissions but many rejects on studentship. My last application to UK finally got me an interview and I passed and finally started July last year ( accounting Phd). I have done quite well the supervisor is great but the uni is a bit down. I have presented my work in three conferences and done a peer reviewed book chapter from my Literature review. collected some empirical qualitative data. I send my transfer seminar report end of June. It was reviewed by examiners in one week. Am defending my next week. although the reviewers comments are quite helpful but one reviewers comments are wide and off the mark indicating lack of understanding to key concepts and my research methodology. am scared to death because i don't know what to include in the presentation. some of the things they are asking like modelling techniques that they do not understand. what should I do? anyone in a similar situation?
