I have been accepted to do an MA in Linguistics at Manchester. Although at the moment I have money enough to pay for the course, I am worried that I wont be able to support myself financially when it cones to train fares, other financial commitments and living costs etc. I am contemplating deferring until 2008. Has anybody else done this? How do the Uni's react to it?
Any advice is greatly appreciated.
I am filling in an application to ERSC, I have to provide a work shedule. Anybody any ideas for what I should have done and when by etc. It is in the area of linguistics, but at the moment I have no idea. Just wanted a rough guide of when literature review should be done by, data collection, discussions, first drafts etc. If anybody could help, would really appreciate it.
Newly joined, enjoying the message board so far.
My tutor believes I have the capability to go straight from studying my degree to a PhD. She has agreed to be my advisor and is behind me putting in the application. I have read though that it is difficult to get an interviewer to be fully convinced.......anybody gone straight from Degree to PhD?
