Maybe I am wasting my time?

You could try to find some academics interested in suicide research and approach them. It doesn't answer your question but this is a very good website and worth a browse. http://www.stampoutsuicide.org.uk

Thinking of quitting - How can I feel better?

Quote From Tulip:

Has anyone got any suggestions? I'd be really grateful to hear from anyone who's managed to feel better after a bout of depression/anxiety. It just feels a bit like what's the point of it all at the moment. :(

You might like to go to the Stamp Out Suicide! website (http://www.stampoutsuicide.org.uk) and check out some of the resources on there.

Your help would be appreciated

I'd be very grateful if people could take the time to respond to this short questionnaire. http://www.surveymonkey.com/s/X8PM22C

I've recently completed a PhD and hope to push ahead with my passion which is suicide research and prevention but although the website is being well received, I am trying to make more people aware of it through the use of Twitter and Facebook. Could I kindly ask as many as possible to join these pages as a gesture of support? Feedback suggests that the website has proved useful for students

Although there can be no substitute for professional help and support, which I would strongly encourage you to seek, these websites might be helpful.

Try not to see your situation as a reflection on yourself but rather recognise that there are very few jobs around at this time for which you are qualified.

SadSabrina,

Hope you are feeling a bit better for having posted. There are people you can talk to, for example, Student Welfare at your University and they would want to help. Although there can be no substitute for professional help and support (which should be the priority) these websites might be helpful.

You said in your post that you don't dare to ask for help but please do, as there really are a lot of people in organisations and agencies that WANT TO HELP and CAN HELP you through this extremely difficult time.
