Hi. I need to do some post-viva changes on my thesis, but unluckily lost my most recent version of the Endnote library. I have just realised that the only backed up copy I have is rather old, but it contains the majority of the bibliography so it should be still usable. The word document (full thesis) contains all the references I need. Now my questions are:
1) Is it possible to extract or recreate a new Endnote library from this Word file?
2) Is it then possible to merge this newly created library with the old one to create a new updated library without duplicates (I think this part is easier?).
Thank you...
Hi all... I would be grateful for your suggestions in updating my CV in order to send for academic job applications. I have recently attended my viva and the result is rather confusing for me. Even though I am given major corrections with a long-term deadline, I will not have to sit another exam. How can I reflect this on my CV so that it sounds good but also true? With minimum wording that I can put in brackets next to the entry for my PhD under the Education & Qualifications section, as it is not for an extensive resume.
Thank you xx
I applied for a job to work at what seems to be the UK branch of an East Asian University, and I am now invited for an interview. However I do have some suspicions that it might not be an accredited place (website ends with .net, never heard of the place and there are no disclaimers on the site apart from some jpeg pictures of accreditation certificates). What would be the best way to look up this institution? Is there an official list or international database I can look at? Many thanks...
Thank you guys. I had my viva today. Result is not so bad but not so good either. Purgatory of results I think. I've got pass with major changes; but I need to do those in 1 year, which feels too long considering I was hoping to say goodbye to my PhD today. Oh well, at least it's not fail; and I won't need to attend another viva. So hopefully I'll start seeing the bright side soon.
When is your viva Sheena? Best of luck to you...
Thank you :-). Really good points. Tricky, that's a good thing to keep in mind; suddenly made me have a different critical opinion about the different sections of the thesis as opposed to a whole document. And now I feel a lot better for not going through a mock viva also.

Sorry for creating another 'viva' thread that is full of anxiety and worry. But I thought I could do with your advice. I'll have my viva in 3 days time, but I did not get a chance to prepare for it (other serious commitments- lack of time etc.). Also I couldn't attend my mock viva last week due to transport problems caused by weather conditions (I live away from my uni). Supervisors have been busy to give me feedback and I will only have an hour with my first supervisor the day before the viva. So, what would be your recipe for an instant viva preparation? I know it's a vague question but any advice would be useful as I started to feel a bit lonely in this game.
:$
Trust me, I wouldn't waste time if I didn't have to. And I have to submit a digital version too. I have tried correcting that on Word (as mentioned on my original post). Other things I tried in Endnote didn't solve either (checked output formats etc). Even deleting and recreating the reference So in the end I had to rename library and rebuild the bibliography from that one. So, it probably was some bug. Sorted now.
Helloooo.. I need to type this handwritten comment but this one word is so illegible, I can't read (marked with red ellipse on the photo):

Can anyone read or suggest what it might be?
