I might stay up, slightly nervous too, the Exit Poll shows a hang parliament but Tory is largest count!? :-( .... bit disturbing
Haha...if you're watching the Election on BBC live, I didn't expect Piers Morgan to have that opinion of Cameron, shame he looks like him hehe
...and many of the ballot papers (containing rhubarb crumble recipes on the back) were swept up in the vortex...

Hi Cm30,
Firstly, congrats on finishing your PhD. I hope you stay on this forum and advise us how to follow suit :p
I suppose the fact that you're working already is a positive, as I reckon it'd be difficult to obtain a 2nd funded PhD if they thought you had a fear of jobs! I really can't say what the rules are, certainly like the others have said, it's been done before.
However, I'd question whether I'm ready to commit myself to another 3 years to a subject I may not enjoy. Maybe you could look into doing a short course in that subject before seeing if it'll be worth undertaking as a PhD.
All the best,
CB
Haha...actually I saw her going clockwise :-)
I used to play the piano....I suppose the word 'used to' is the problem here!
Anyway I remembered another brain trick I had got in a forwarded email. Try this:

Hey Missinhome,
Although, it's not international, I moved 400 miles to begin my PhD, so I understand how you feel. At the time, I had left behind some of the closest friends I ever had and my family and I didn't think it would be the same. It takes a while, but now I'm very happy with the friends I have made here, and feel I have more fun here than I did back home. It helps if you can find a society you can fit in with, so find time to have activities outside your PhD.
Missing family is very tough and to me it's a struggle, but a PhD is flexible in the sense that you choose when you take time off.
P.S. Stay on this forum :-)

...the rhubarb is gaining votes...
(haha, our hero wont die! ...I hope :p)
... the pig explodes, causing it to rain bacon...
I had that a while back and I think it lasted 2 weeks, disappeared then popped back again for another week or so! Not sure what caused it, either I strained it in being in front of the laptop too long or I was stressed about something. I guess there's nothing you could do about it but try to ignore it. It'll eventually go away. I used to like staring at the mirror and seeing it twitch, but it did irritating most times.
Maybe you should take more breaks away from the computer screen, or keep a further distance, that might help.

....so this dual-entity tried to bring the rhubarb crumble by telekinesis but....
Happy Birthday!!! If it's any consolation, I have yet to jump into my summer clothes and being in lab limits what I wear even more :-s

You probably needed a break anyway, it motivates you to work harder after a long break. :-)
