Thinking about A-level results day
C

Only 6 years ago for me.... I got ABB and was a bit disappointed (I was an A-A* student at GCSE). From that moment I vowed to get a first in my degree. And I did.

I hated A-levels :-s:p

I'm sure kids and PhDs are workable for some people - plenty of people have done both at the same time.

Ah right. Sort of related then - I'm doing cardiovascular medicine. Not at St James's though, but actually at the university. I've only been to st james's once, went to a "starting your PhD" course in the brand new building....

Cambridge's reputation isn't going to help you if you haven't got the necessary equipment to do your exoeriments! Go to Leeds!

I'm biased though (because I'm here!) What field are you in?

Student bursaries - does yours go up each year?
C

Nope, 12000 a year.

Ok how are you doing it?
C

It shouldn't be any different... I'm funded for 3 years but have until September 2010 to submit my thesis. That's 4 years after I started. I checked out the fees thing yesterday and I think I have to pay something like £100-something to register for the 4th year.
