So where's the training in the quotes thing then? I meant it, I would really like to know.

At the top left, adjacent to your screen name, there is a little button with the word 'QUOTE' on it. When you press this button it will display the quoted text in your reply and highlight it so as people know it's a quote (remember, you need to press the quote button that applies to the text that you are quoting)
Alternatively, you could do it manually (quote] your text here [/quote) copy and paste your desired text between the words quote that are held within the brackets (remember, the outside brackets on each of the quotes are removed, you'll have to replace them with the same type of bracket that is shown in the interior next to the actual quoted text).
Quote.

was that condescending enough for you?

Also, as you are so upet about my typos a new key board would help. As I .study arts, I can't afford one myself

Mods, don't you have rules about lack of respect for other people's research areas? How incredibly rude Moob is? Did you get some special training for that, moob?

Lack of respect? I do think it's inane, but that's just me being subjective. Although, when I look at the subject in the opposit way to the latter I can see how people could be interested in it.

Special training... I was just stating my opinion, I could have been a whole lot ruder. How are you going to grow as a researcher or for that matter as a person if you can't take criticism?

Quote form Manboob

'Yes, I do blindly believe that I know everything, especially things that I have no expertise or experience in, and I do also have zero respect for the expertise and experience of others, so I am really sorry for that, and for talking twaddle, being a petty child and moaning about typos, and for not actually reading your posts properly'

That's Ok Moob, just remember this a voluntary position.

Eska, you know I was right, stop getting all defensive.

Oh, and would you also like some coaching in how to use the 'Quote' button properly?

Quote From eska:

Hey Doc Moobs, I am amazed, astounded and blown away but he deep levels of igorance you dislay about visul studies, and the study of films, specificly. What the bloomin' heck would anyone git from discussing feminsim in Frinch film with a leeding actor?..

(I shall try and read around your illiteracy) How about the wider socio-political impacts that "Feminism displayed on screen" has had on the psyche of the viewing public over the years e.g. their growing acceptance of a woman having a more powerful role in society, rather than just homemakers?
Also, it would be prudent to address the Actresses whom were involved in these provocative films so as their own point of view on their contribution to Feminism in France could be noted, that is if they have one, and weren't just pawns in some ideological female directors metaphorical game of genderised chess.

I am blown away by 'YOUR IGNORANCE' pertaining to these very inane issues.

Quote From walminskipeasucker:

Oh, and Doc Moobs, methinks that one wouldn't be interviewing many French leading ladies for a French Cinema PhD - that sounds more like an article for Cosmopoliton.

This depends on ones reason for interviewing them.. If your PhD theses was entitled "Feminism in French cinema" I think that interviews with current and past (but still living) leading ladies and female directors would be a crucial part of the study

Although, I think that "Feminism: Impacts and mitigation" may be a better topic?

Ah, French Cinema, awsome! I would have liked to have done a PhD in that, would have been nice to have interviewed all the pretty leading ladies and laced my theses with pictures of them all; In fact, I would have dedicated my entire theses to French women in Cinema.

You need to hook up a dynamo type device to couple of exercise bikes, then hook them up to your mains, then go and recruit some immigrants. If you pay your immigrants a wage of about 1 pound per day each It should workout cheaper.
Furthermore, I also think this maybe a great idea for the unemployed, they could be made to cycle all day so as the energy created could be supplied to the national grid, thus helping with global warming and cutting down on the unemployment rate.

I'm a genius!

Great money making scheme Garryck, you could be the 'Simon Cowell' of the political World.. You could hold auditions for aspiring MPs across the UK. The ones with the best policies could come on your show and explain them to a much wider audience and after they finish boring everyone to death (if anyone is still alive) he/she can text in YES or NO as to whether this person stays in or not. After the preliminaries, the quarter finals and the semi finals have taken place, the finalists can then get involved in an intense political debate so as the audience can judge "WHO HAS THE GREATEST POLICIES!!! (said in a very slow deep voice)

I can imagine this show will have extremely high ratings.. just like the parliament channel on Sky Television..

Garryck, you could host your show with Nick griffin, that will without a doubt boost your ratings.

This could also work in the opposite way if you're thinking about students. This is because if the city has a university and there are lots of landlords wanting to rent their flats/room out then most likely there will be competition between them, and the one who can deliver the cheapest value for money will be inundated with requests for rooms. Therefore, the prices might go down as a result.

2:2 + master (merit), funding?
D

======= Date Modified 27 Mar 2010 11:33:57 =======
I know a few people who got a 2:2 and just a pass in their MSc and got a fully funded PhD no problem at all, you should be ok. Espescially when it's a MSc that you have (or are going to get), it's harder to get a funded PhD with a MA. Having a MSc is the equivalent of getting a First/2:1 as an undergrad. Although, the difference between getting a 2:2 and a 2:1 can be a bit of a joke really.
