I was quite impressed that so many people have actually filmed them ! A big one looked like an alien blob from a '50s B movie, mowing down young people in its trail!! :-) The wonders of nature, eh!

Tumbleweeds can be a road hazard in the western US--they can blow and pile up so high that the major highways have to be closed.

Interesting! I wonder how they came to be used as a symbolic response in the deadly silence following a really bad joke where no one laughs?
