Buttercup - you should definitely discuss this with your supervisor, you could do some robust stats (bootstrap the data), regression as well cos I guess this is a clinical study where you'd want to be able to predict cognitive functioning. I reckon your supervisor would have an opinion on what would be best for your design.

So your dependent variable is cognitive functioning, and you're looking for an interaction between drug treatment, fatigue and time?
If those are your 3 independent variables, how many levels do they have and what kind of variables are they (between subjects or within subjects)?
Sounds like it could be a factorial ANOVA, but you'd need to explore the data and check that it meets the assumptions.

I'm in psychology, I could maybe have a look at it. Depends on what your exact topic is though - I'm not interested to read anything in social/developmental/clinical psychology, but would read something in perception/attention/cognitive neuroscience etc.

I thought it depends on whether the 3 years were spent in full time education though?

It's in name only, just something the old Scottish unis do (St Andrews, Glasgow, Edinburgh and I think Dundee as well). If you applied for a PG course with an MA(Hons) it wouldn't count as a masters.

Most universities have a minimum registration period before submission... I don't think it's possible to register as a PhD student and submit a thesis after only a few months.

I dunno about the first question but about the other two...

If you submitted it with his name on originally and he agreed with that then leave it on. It's unfortunate he's went off the radar but the work reflects what has happened in the past (when he supervised you) rather than the current situation. As the corrections are minor then I don't see that he'd have problems with it; and if you agreed to name him as co-author originally then you should honour that. Contact the journal and tell them you are now the corresponding author for the article.

That's my advice, but before you do any of that I think you should speak to whoever is in charge of postgraduate affairs at your uni. You need to know at least some of the details about why your supervisor has left and what they're doing about it (i.e. new supervisor who could guide you with this kind of thing).

I think the only person who can decide if it's worth it is you... Is this experience worth the 9k, in your opinion? Sounds like you wanna go for it and if you can afford it, then I say do it! :-)

I don't know that you'll get a definitive answer to this... I use 'Hey' for everyone (parents, friends, employers, supervisors, colleagues etc.). For some friends/family, I use 'alright?' instead (but obv. that's only in real life/on the phone, not for text/email).

I really don't think they'll pay you back for the MRes year. I'm slightly confused why they gave it to you, should they (or your uni) not have told you to apply for the +3 instead? Or is it a funded project you applied for? If it's a funded project then I think they will just make it a +3, but you should ask your supervisor.

My uni gives a few of these books out to every new student, one I liked was 'The Unwritten Rules of PhD Research' by Gordon Rugg and Marian Petre.

Did I miss something...? Since when is it unreasonable to ask if some funding sources are perceived as better than others?
