if, during the interview, you just get lost with your english and start to have a really bad pronuciation and making basic errors on gramar?
That's what I'm afraid of, next tuesday...
Thanks a lot kabhihaan! That was precious!
I'm looking for some published articles, I remember there were some very useful internet sites where I could read the full article (not just the abstract), and I could do a advanced search about most everything: Date, author, title, etc...
Does anybody have a clue where I can find these sites?
I have an interview next Tuesday and I would like to read some of the articles published by my supervisor.
Well, I hope it was nothing related to me! Why should a simple question like mine generate a personal argument?
What were you guys writing about?
I am from Portugal and the PhD is about biosensors and electrochemistry.
UrrGGhh!!
I'm going to have a phone interview next tuesday!!!
I'm so insecure! About my english and everything!!!
Help!! Any advice for me to calm down?
Obrigado!
I'm sending e-mails to the university departments asking for my chances, I'm optimistic. I'm aiming to start my PhD until January or so. I think I can manage a solution until there.
I am in the chemistry field so maybe it will be more feasible.
I really hope so.
Hi
I am a EU student, what are the chances of getting full funding (fees and stipend) for a PhD?
I am starting to apply for some projects but I still have no response.
Is this normal? How long do they take to respond? Anything like "thank you for your application, bla bla"? would do.
Hi
How do international students go to interviews?
I mean, if somedy is from Pakistan, this person should go to UK, do the interview and return to Pakistan? And if he applied for more than one PhD he risks to have to return to the UK next week, for another interview. Who pays for all this? Are there any international students with a similar experience?
How often do PhD students get payed? Weekly?monthly? once a year?
Still doing my domestic Maths...
Thanks
Try to discover the wonders in Portugal and Spain. Italy is very nice too.
Not in London. I know it is almost the most expensive city in the world!
I was thinking of Norwich.
I'm applying for a PhD there and the fund is 12000£ year, that is 1000£ month, if I spend 400£ with accomodation that leaves me 600£/month left. will it be enough?
how do you PhD students manage to live? I don't have any familiar supports, so I'm on my own. Is it feasible?
How much do you usually spend on accomodation? I'm not familiar with the english ways of payment so:
- how are the scholarships payed? monthly? weekly?
- Is a 400£ per month rent expensive?
- 600£ per month is enough to survive? excluding accomodation, of course...
Just give an idea os this please, I'm trying to make some domestic maths.
Thanks a lot
