I studied masters in overseas and my grades were very low in masters. But I was offered to pursue ph.d. It all depends on how your profile matches with the requirement of particular ph.d. Do not loose your hope. You may have to try harder (otherwise, you need to apply or contact many research groups). All the best

Instrumental music works well for me to focus on what I need to do.

I am in a similar situation right now. I feel guilty if I do not work at least few hours day irrespective of week day or weekend. The only thing I make sure is that I rest well enough during weekend. I love cycling, but I have not even touched my 2 bikes for about 5 months!
Being a part time ph.d student, your progress has been good (you are working on your second journal article). If you have another year/few months to graduate, you could take a vacation for 2 or 3 weeks. Trust me, it works!

I have been there. Sometimes the complex ego problems between your supervisor and others in the department may affect you.
As long as your supervisor supports you and appreciates your work, try to finish your ph.d and leave that place!
Wherever you go, some people may accept you.... others may not! You do not have to feel so down or lost, unless you do something wrong!

I am sorry to hear. I broke my left foot few months ago and I had to stay home for about 7 weeks. I was working on a journal article and then I have started to write thesis. Can you spend few hours a day to write thesis, even though you are away from school?
Do not give up. Sometimes hardships can make you stronger.
I have never imagined, how I would manage being alone with a broken foot. But at last, it made me stronger!
Make sure that your immediate supervisor and big professor are okay with your progress. In my case, my immediate supervisor stood up for me and has been supporting me.

Congratulations on getting a job.
It is good that you already completed 50% of your ph.d thesis.
I know someone who defended his ph.d, after starting to work for a company. It was not easy. But it took him for about one year to finish writing!
Another friend said that he completed 80% of his thesis and he would schedule his defense as soon as he finishes writing the thesis. He has started to work for a company recently.
May be if you could sacrifice weekends and so on, you could finish your thesis writing and finish the remaining work for ph.d.
All I can say is that Do not give up.

It depends on the area of research. In aircraft structures, mostly CFRP composites are used (if I am not wrong). So I would recommend you to read basics about these composites, such as mechanism of failure modes for these composites, different materials used and so on.
However, I would suggest you to prepare for the interview based on research activities defined for that particular research. Good luck
