Sorry Moonblue, I don't know anything about Endnote either.
Of course my job application took twice as long as I'd hoped. And I'm still not happy with a bit of it so need to have a think and come back to it.
My next goal is to prepare my journal paper for submission and hopefully get it sent off.
Morning all.
My goals today are to submit another job application, submit a journal article and address the minor comments my sup made on a chapter. I'm hoping none of these things will take me much longer than an hour so that I can feel all smug by lunch time!
So much for having my chapter thesis ready. I realised I'm still not happy with it so have ended up starting to rewrite half of it. Gah. I'm leaving it for now to spend a couple of hours on another job application.
Sounds like a busy day Sneaks.
I have now submitted my first job application. :-)
I would really like to get one analytic chapter edited and thesis ready today but have stuff to do for another job application so we'll see. Anyway my goal now is to get as far as I can with the chapter.
That's great Sneaks!
My first goal today is to make a few changes to my job application and to email it off.
I am now happy with my journal paper, hurray.
My final goal is to edit my CV to include in job application and to draft out a cover letter.
I have spent all morning filling out an application form. Gah. My goal for the rest of the afternoon is to finish editing a journal paper.
No time for PhD write-up today...
I really can't focus if I try to work late. Especially if I've already been sat at the computer all day. 8 hours tops for me. I'm OK with most mornings though.
Right my first goal today is to get a job application ready to send off.
I always thought that 'methodology' was a 'posher' way of writing 'method', like writing 'within' instead of 'in'. Haha, oh dear.
Ady what's your supervisor's stance on how closely you have to follow their advice? OK so they generally know best but my sup stresses to me that all he is giving me is *advice*. If you feel strongly about it could you keep it how you prefer?
I have now finished drafting out my contributions and am starting to feel happy with the way my discussion chapter is going. I have a careers appoitment at 3.45 so I will read through my sups comments on a chapter until then. And then try to get back to work after the appointment instead of heading off to the gym at 4.15...
My supervision meeting is now over. My goal for the next few hours is to draft out the contributions section of my discussion.
Morning everyone! I hope we all have more productive days than yesterday!
I haven't got off to a good start and couldn't get up this morning. I have only just made it onto campus and have a supervision meeting at 11.30. So before then I need to make a list of things to bring up.
Mmm pavlova..
I have now addressed all of the minor comments on the chapter and one of the more major comments. I'm leaving it for now as I have to prepare for supervision tomorrow and then to spend some time working on job applications (also in preparation for a careers appointment tomorrow).
Just about managed my 400 words.
My next goal is to see how far I can get redrafting a data chapter following comments from my supervisor.
Today I really, really need to feel like I'm making progress on my discussion. My goal for the morning is to rewrite some of the rubbish stuff and increase the word count by at least 400.
